HTTP: A Simple History Simple Complex Simpler Anyone could create a simple web page knowing some HTML, using notepad, and a couple hours of free time Web sites have become very large and Complex Robust programs like Studio 8 have become too cumbersome for most users Contribute Requires: Basic knowledge of browsersBasic knowledge of browsers Concept of Text, Links, and GraphicsConcept of Text, Links, and Graphics Eliminates the 5 step creation and update processEliminates the 5 step creation and update process

Users: Support Staff “In the past, the bulletin would be typed by me and then emailed to Mr. Hoglen who would then have to convert the document into the appropriate program, make the changes necessary for the document to be compatible, cut and paste it into the website, and then email or complete the transmission to be web – whew! (if he had the spare time) Now with Mr. Hoglen’s expert advice – I can type the bulletin, save it in my documents, open up Macromedia, select my bulletin document and post it to the web in just a couple of short, easy steps. This saves a lot of time and makes more sense that I post the bulletin to the web and not him.” Pat Brown – Secretary

Users: Teachers “Contribute has been an easy and efficient way for me to edit my program’s webpage. I created my webpage so that I could promote my basketball program but in the beginning I was anything but computer savvy. In a short time I was able to work on my own webpage. I now have a picture slide show, tables, and other graphics on my page which can be edited very quickly.” Brian Meneely: Basketball Coach

Users: Web Design Student “Awsome, two thumbs up!” Tony G.
