Université de Strasbourg Case study: Strasbourg Graduate School of Biotechnology (ESBS) Jean-Marc Jeltsch April 23 rd 2015 www.unistra.fr 4  The right place for a tri-national curriculum.  ESBS is an international school providing German, French and Swiss students with a French engineering diploma in biotechnology.  This trilingual curriculum allows the diploma to be recognized in the three countries. Université de Strasbourg Fragments of History Jean-Marc Jeltsch April 23 rd 2015 www.unistra.fr 5  1982: Launching of the curriculum as a French engineering school within the university.  1988: First example of a tri-national program (Switzerland – France – Germany) in 3 years with a limited class size of 40 students (20 French and 20 German and Swiss).  1989: First piece of choice of the newly created EUCOR.  2009: The KIT jumps out off the program.  2010: Reorganization of the studies with Basel, Freiburg and Strasbourg partners universities.  2014: Enhanced cooperation between ESBS and ECPM and launching of a Chem-biotech program.
