A friend is one who has the same enemies as you have. A house divided against itself cannot stand. Always bear in mind that you own resolution to succeed is more important than any other. America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

He was born on February 12, 1809, in Hardin Country. His parents were born in Virginia. His mother died when he was ten, he was very smart in his child years. But yet even after his father left him at the age of eight, he still gained the knowledge on a farm. He was the captain of the Black Hawk war. He married a woman called Mary Todd, they had four boys. In the year of 1858, Lincoln ran against Stephen Douglas to be the Senator. But he lost the election. As President, he built the Republican Party into a strong organization. Lincoln won the re-election. On the Good Friday, April 14, 1865, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in Washington at the Ford’s Theatre by John Wilkes Booth. He was an actor, who thought that he was helping the South. And when Lincoln died so did the possibility of the peace with magnanimity.

His mother died on October 5 1818.In 1847 the family of Lincoln’s move to a boarding house in Washington, D.C. On December 3, the United States Circuit Court meets Mary Todd at a Christmas dance. On 1839 Practises as a lawyer on the 8 th Judicial Circuit. In 1837 he moves to Springfield and Establishes as a law partner of John T. Stuart. His first political speech was in 1830. And on December 2 1819 his farther married a widow who became his step mother. In 1855 Abraham fails in his quest to become a U.S. Senator. On 1853 Lincolns son was born his name was, Thomas Lincoln. 1848 January 22 Gives a speech against was policy regarding Mexico.

Abraham Lincoln was born in a log cabin. When they moved to Springfield his dad had many jobs there, including storekeeping and mill operator. Abraham Lincoln was elected in 1847. But he turned on the wrong side of the voters by opposing the Mexican War. That year, he left the Whigs for the new Republican Party and rose in influence. In the following year, the Dred Scott decision dealt a huge blow to the republican hopes.
