2 A Unique Educational Partnership The College of Pharmacy for four universities: –The University of Akron –Kent State University –Youngstown State University –Cleveland State University Partnering with existing hospitals and health care providers throughout northeastern Ohio Non-duplicative; only College of Pharmacy in the eastern half of the state

4 Training Ohio’s Health Care Professionals Interdisciplinary training: A national priority. Professionals are trained in isolation, then expected to work as a team. Goal: Improved patient outcomes and reduction in medical errors.

5 Expanded Role of the Pharmacist Pharmacists more actively involved in direct patient care. As population ages, the demand for well- trained pharmacists increases.
