3 Focusing Reflective Freewrite When you were writing your first draft, describe what you did to prepare to write, what materials (Brainstorm, Linking Sentences Worksheet, Blueprint, etc.) you had available, and where you did your writing. 5 Final Draft Peer Review Carefully review the Essay Evaluation Standards Select one or (at most) two partners and trade papers. Carefully review your partner’s paper. Discuss the process with your partner.

6 Unity Review Assignment Due Monday, March 1st You are assigned to examine a paragraph and evaluate it for unity. You will note that it definitely has unity problems when you read it through. 1.Find the topic sentence of the paragraph. It should be the main idea, what the paragraph is all about. Label this sentence with TS (topic sentence) 2.Then systematically measure each sentence against the topic sentence. You want to be able to label each sentence in the paragraph as Supporting the TS, Off-topic, or Contradicting the TS Label each sentence as S, O, or C. We will begin the assignment in class so you can get an idea of what’s involved in completing it. I recommend that you work on this assignment with others; it will definitely be more fun this way. For extra-credit, re-write the paragraph so that it is unified. Be assured that there is no one perfect way to re-write this paragraph— you can even change the story around if you want to do so!
