School / Work / Life Balance You’re “only” in 15 hours of class per week. A good rule of thumb: for every hour you’re in class, you should be devoting another hour to preparing for that class, doing assignments for that class, etc. So, 15 hour in class + 15 hours of study = 30 hours a week. Another good rule of thumb: don’t take a job that demands more than 10-15 hours a week. (30 + 15 = 45). PS: On-campus jobs are great! www.ryerson.ca/career/jobsearch/searchjob/oncampusjobs/ www.ryerson.ca/career/jobsearch/searchjob/oncampusjobs/

If your situation affects more than one course, talk to the program director or assistant immediately. (2) If you become ill, have your doctor sign a Ryerson Medical Certificate immediately. You can use the Ryerson Clinic too. www.ryerson.ca/currentstudents/forms/ (3) We have a Personal Counsellor who is here to help you, confidentially, with any personal difficulties you may be experiencing.
