Manufacturers test is done in the lab where specifications may not be met in “normal working conditions

Example of Lab vs Ground Test Printer test: Laser vs Ink Jet Several brands were taken Speed test, stress test, quality test done in Singapore first than send to selected countries in Asia Pacific Discovered that in some countries, paper always jam and in some countries, speed was slower Further investigation shows that due to the different type of paper quality, 80 gsm is different in different countries (some have more powder, thicker etc). Also discovered that the temperature & dust level at the location of customer is high. In future product development, papers are purchased from various countries and tested at factory before shipping Sample

Example of discovery on P-CRM Started off in testing modems from different vendors to incorporate into training materials Tested with different mass marketing (fax) & sales (CRM) software. Modem is connected to headset, fax line and internet Also found that some modems audio capability does not match specification. The full solution including hardware & software cost less than S$1,000 vs the cheapest CRM solution of about S$10,000 Personal CRM is extremely useful for individuals especially in the sales & marketing department At her desk, click, it will dial to her customers, vendors, suppliers & she can just talk while working. If require, click, & document is faxed over without her leaving her desk. No need to remember the 137 numbers, no need to lift up her hands to dial the numbers etc
