MCCP Purpose and Goals Promote the rational use of drugs in society Advance the principles and practice of clinical pharmacy Promote the full-time, advanced practice of clinical pharmacy Provide an advanced level of continuing education programs in the area of clinical pharmacy and therapeutics

MCCP Purpose and Goals Provide a forum for the expression of opinion on pharmacy practice, education, and research from the perspective of clinical pharmacists Support, promote, and advance the goals and objectives of the ACCP as outlined in its constitution and bylaws Provide a local recruiting base for ACCP

MCCP Fundraising Portion of Proceeds will support Magis and Sharing Clinic on alternating years. This year a portion of the proceeds will go to the Magis Clinic Sand Volleyball Tournament – September

ACCP Organizational Guidance: Accepting Commercial Support Open letter posted on MCCP website. By Jan. 1, 2013 a new approach to the acceptance of commercial support becomes effective. 1.“ACCP will neither solicit nor accept any commercial support for CPE activities at its national meetings...” 2.“ACCP and its chapters can seek commercial support for their meetings (not tied to any specific programming, business meeting or networking event) to expand or enhance meeting content or quality, or to reduce the cost of the meeting for all attendees.” *CPE = Continuing Pharmacy Education

ACCP Organizational Guidance: Accepting Commercial Support 3.“ ACCP and its chapters will neither solicit nor accept funds from commercial entities for the provision of social functions during their meetings (including PRN business and networking forums).” 4.“ACCP and its chapters can solicit and accept grants to conduct non-CPE activities that foster the advancement of clinical pharmacy that are consistent with the College’s mission.”

Online CE for Pharmacists New method of obtaining CE after MCCP meetings or for home study Login to ACCP at www.accp.com/cewww.accp.com/ce – Do not need to be a member, but must set up a FREE account – Click on “Claim CE for a Chapter Activity” – Enter meeting code for completed CE Will be provided at each meeting or once home study is completed – Select Number of Credit hours (1.0 hour/session) and submit to print CE certificate

Student Opportunity!! ACCP Clinical Pharmacy Challenge – Teams of 3 students from each school will be selected to compete in “quiz bowl” type competition – Held at ACCP Annual Meeting Oct. 16-17, 2010 in Austin, TX – Questions offered in 3 formats: Trivia/Lightning, Clinical Case, Jeopardy-style – Awards range from meeting reimbursement to up to $1500 cash prize for the winning team – Watch for emails for more information on local team selection process late summer/early fall.

New Ideas for MCCP Educational sessions on interviewing skills Involving residents (city-wide) with Clinical Skills Competitions or other related learning experiences at Creighton and UNMC
