The Huron homes focused on the Great Lakes States. Such as Illinois, Minnesota, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

Sunflowers, Beans, Squash, and Corn the women and children harvested these things. Men hunted for deer meat. Men fished for fish. Cornbread, soup and, stew were all part of the Huron recipes.

The Huron lived in longhouses. Longhouses are made of bark and average about 20 feet wide and 200 feet long. Longhouses can fit up to 60 people.

Men wore breechclothes and leggings. In winter, they wear deerskin tunics.

Women wore wraparound skirts with poncho-style blouses or deerskin dresses with removable sleeves.

The Huron created an alliance when Europeans moved in.

Special chants and dances were made to cure illness. Each family had about 2 or 3 children. They didn’t write they used their stories. Each part of the family has different jobs.

The Huron men are farmers.
