5. Desktop  On the desktop are the icons differently: Links or shortcuts, refer to the most important elements of the user interface, as well as to the existing software system.

6. Taskbar  The taskbar is the long horizontal bar at the bottom of the screen. Unlike the desktop, which can be obscured by open windows, the taskbar is almost always visible

7. Hard disk icon  Folders, files documents and other items are displayed as little icons like this.this one in fact represent your Mac's internal hard disk

8. Desktop pattern  This background image can be swapped for many more to the Appearance control panel. You can use a repeating ‘pattern’ like this or a single image a scanned photography for example.

9. Wastebasket icon  The Wastebasket is where you throw things you no longer need.

10. My computer  This lets you browse the files stored on your PC.

11. My Network Places  For offices PCs, this lets users see other computers connected to the PC

12. Winamp A computer program used to play most audio files
