Mr. Ric Hoogestraat is a 53 year old man who has been married for the past 7 years to Sue a 58 year old woman who seems to not be his main second half. For the past few months, Mr. hoogerstat has been involved with another woman solely online through a website that created a virtual world where what we do in our own world can be done in the virtual world, and intimate relationships is one aspect both worlds share. The Academics Studies have only recently began to investigate the social dynamics of virtual worlds. One of the things learned from the studies is that virtual relationships are very similar to real life. The people who play these games have real emotions towards their characters and the different things that may happen to them.

Dance Party Mr. Hoogestraat has a real job making $14 an hour at Vangent Inc. He started playing Second Life as a way to take his mind off of his mothers death. When he had to stay home do to medical problems he would play from 6 am till 2 am only breaking for the bathroom. He married his virtual girlfriend after a few months of knowing her.
