A partner agency with the Intermediate Care Reablement Team 2008 Carers Emergency Card Carers Contact had concerns that if a carer should be involved in an accident, how could anyone be informed that the cared for person would need assistance. We had the idea that carers in Newport should carry an ID Card, which will identify them as a carer. The Emergency Services on finding the card, will ring the Emergency Control Centre, who will alert another relative/friend that the cared for person will need assistance. Carers carry the ID Card ONLY if the cared for person receives the Telecare Service. This could save a life!
