10. Linear Assessment = Linear Skills Teaching All departments will need to produce a summary of learning for each module taught in EVERY SUBJECT FOR EVERY YEAR GROUP - Why? For most subjects your SOW needs to change Does how you teach need to change? Does how you assess need to change? What’s new, stayed the same, what’s different with the new specifications for your subject – are you clear about the difference? Are students clear about the success criteria for your subject. How will you revisit things that have been taught during two years of study so that students can recall and apply in an exam setting?

11. 1.Teacher marks the work/ task 2.Teacher provides a formative comment for improvement and instruction. 14. Preparation for change of timetable During the next two weeks STLs need to ensure that classes are ready to be handed over for the timetable change on 29.06.15  Books marked  Seating plans handed over with data  RAP done for the class  Rates of progress sheet done for the class  There needs to be a calendar/overview for all KS4/5 courses – this will be checked at line management and sampled by leadership All books should be marked up to date and in school for book monitoring on the 17 th of June there should be no parental complaints about books not being marked on progress day

15. Progress day Friday 10 th July What needs to be done before progress day? Departments should have discussed students and their issues in department meetings Class teachers Must make sure the data they are inputting is correct by 5 th June STL Must check the data entries of their department for consistency before 5 th June YTL, (staff and tutors in some cases) Must be made aware of any issues that could arise by 18 th June

16. Up date diaries Confirm your appointment times and follow up parents who have not made appointments Tutors Must make sure pages are completed in the diary; Page 6 and 7 progress graphs, Page 8 progress grades and targets By 19 th June MOST IMPORTANT p10 should be complete which is the targets for 2014-2015. New targets must be prepared on paper to update to the new diary. Pages 12 to 14 reflection of the term By 24 th June Mark your books! Start checking diaries now, meet with students one to one to help them complete this work

17. Transition week/New Time table 29 th June Students will have extended tutor time to update new diaries, write in new timetables, write in targets for the year and remind students of school expectations (activities will also be organised). You must collect in the students old diaries to use for progress day 10 th July New Year 6 students will go to form for period 3 and 4 to complete diaries/time table and to be introduced to the form. Your tutor group could bring in refreshments for period 4 All Activities and tasks will be set and prepared for the day Period 5 and 6 students will go to normal lesson (Year 6 will have a lesson provided) All resources and information packs will be distributed to tutors prior to transition week

18. The Day before Progress day Organise your Tutor room Organised in horse shoe Books arranged in Alphabetical order (Diaries on top) Rooms clean and tidy Organise your desk (make sure you can see the clock) Their will be an extended registration from 2.15pm No students will be allowed to collect books during this time, Students should have collected these books prior to this time

19. On the day 10 th July Discuss progress throughout the year (2 Sub Levels minimum) using key words from the diaries (justify, adapt, explain). Explain how they can improve their progress in school (after school clubs, Sam learning, My maths, Past papers and Reading) Explain how they can improve their progress at home (Read to parents, computer programs as above, check through homework and parents to check the students books) Discuss targets that have been set (in old diaries and new diary) Discuss barriers for learning Parents to complete Ofsted questionnaire and data collection sheet Give out letters Discuss Fire alarm number and any room/tutor changes If you need YTL in any of your meetings ask them
