Conewago Valley School District Total enrollment = 3875 Male 1958Female 1917 38% are economically disadvantaged 16% minority (Black, Asian, Hispanic, Native, Multi-racial) * 84% Caucasian Currently we have 14 different languages spoken by our student population. 11% of our students have a language other than English spoken at home.

CVSD GUIDANCE MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the Conewago Valley School District Guidance Department is to support our school district’s educational mission by providing a comprehensive school counseling program which will prepare each student to reach his or her fullest academic, career, and social-emotional potential.

The Workforce Issue The Forgotten Half in the United States 30% of United States people between 18- 25 do not have a high school diploma. 20% of United States people between 18- 25 “only” graduate from high school ‘Pathways to Prosperity: Meeting the Challenge of Preparing Young Americans for the 21 st Century”

CVSD How do we develop the best possible program to benefit our students? Increase in post-high school attendance over the past 10 years, but we do not have completion data (or if they even actually attend In the big picture, how do we help our students in all areas: academic, personal/social, and career?

Goals To establish the Guidance Advisory Council to benefit from input from all stakeholders. To compile data by the spring Advisory Council meeting to enable us to create goals for next school year. To present the Guidance program to the CVSD School Board and each building faculty by the end of the school year.
