2 Introduction Team A summarized a case study of a unit on the Holocaust The case study was broken down using the ASSURE model The team listed resources found in the case study

Holocaust Background Holocaust occurred in 1930’s- 1940’s Generally defined as acts against human nature Almost 6,000 Jews and others were killed in concentration camps

Analyze Learners 11 th and 12 th graders Grades and abilities vary Learning styles vary Previously studied events leading up to Holocaust

State Objectives To analyze the events of the Holocaust and decide if Holocaust could occur again To understand details of Holocaust To dispel myths about Holocaust

Select Methods/Media/Materials Students will preview a teacher made PowerPoint on the Holocaust Utilize extra computer time scheduled by the teacher

Utilize Media/Materials The teacher will act as a facilitator in a discovery learning environment The students will use Web locations found on the internet to stimulate class discussion

Require Learner Participation Students will answer questions in the workbook created by the teacher Students browse and view web sites to select one or two images that truly represent the Holocaust

Evaluation and Revision Students will be evaluated based on completion of the workbook Students will also take quizzes based on material found on web sites to check for understanding

Evaluation and Revision – cont’d The teacher will use the results of the evaluation in combination with the students’ assignments to revise the lesson for use in future classes

Conclusion Case study on Holocaust dealt with 11 th and 12 th graders Team decided to complete a lesson using the ASSURE model Lesson focused on different forms of technology
