2 Course Selection Process  Begins Feb. 9 th  Each class will attend an assembly in the PAC for further information  Course selection sheets are specific for each class (Class of 2017, Class of 2018, etc.)  Choose courses carefully!  If a class has 10 students or less then you will not be able to drop it, or switch to another section  Colleges look for rigor in your courses  Be realistic - balance of academics and sports/extra-curricular activities  Teacher placement  Teacher signatures required for non-bolded options / bolded options do not require a signature.  New class next year: Intro to Programming (10 th -12 th graders). Computer Science class, Pre-req is Business Apps.  SAT Prep will NOT be offered next year due to the SAT redesign

4 Course Selection Process  Class of 2018 - Rising Sophomores (current freshmen)  Less choices than you will have next year  Typical Sophomore schedule includes  English 2  Math (Geometry or Algebra 2)  Science (Chemistry)  Theology 2  Foreign Language (2 years required, but 3 recommended)  PE (1 credit required- can split these up by semester)  Elective  Technology (Business Apps / Digital Art & Design 1 / Intro to Programming / Digital Imaging)  Fine Arts (Drama, Art, Music, Chorus, Drawing, etc.)  Other: Law Ed, Composition, Creative Writing, Personal Finance, Yearbook, Holocaust, etc.

5 Course Selection Process  Class of 2017 - Rising Juniors (current sophomores)  Choice of science very important - decide carefully!  3 science credits required to graduate  Do not have to take Physics – this class is for students who are strong in math, enjoys science and does well in it!  Other options include: A1 Bio 2, AP Bio, AP Chem, AP, A1, A2 Env. Science, H, A1, A2 Physics  AP teachers have to sign you into their courses (not your former teacher like others)  AP courses have outside work to do over the summer (except AP Gov’t) & AP Sciences have extended class time every 7 weeks until 3:30 (Env. Science, AP Bio). AP Chemistry is a double-period class (90 minutes)  Go to your former World History teacher for your US History signature (level)  Study Hall(s) popular for Juniors due to heavy course load and/or sports
