3 CBSS Project Support Facility Overall aim To develop the new sustainable project on culture tourism in the Baltic Sea region for the region’s economic growth and prosperity, using the rich historical and culture heritage of the region as a motor and unique resource Period: August 2014 – April 2015

4 The goals and objectives of the Action: To link sectors key players in travel industry together: the travel/tourism branch with knowledge society, local authorities and culture organizations – from the participating countries of BSR in the process of new project development To establish the highly competent cross sectorial Working Expert Group (WEG) - the groundwork for the future sustainable Cooperation Platform - to gain from the common promotion and supporting activities in marketing of the Culture Touristic Destinations in BSR.

5 GOALS and OBJECTIVES To collect, summarize and analyze the information on activities related to cooperation on culture tourism in the region of Baltic Sea - the overall picture should be considered while designing the new project, which should be complementary, not overlapping one. To create the partnerships, defining interests among major stakeholders

6 Specific tasks: Identification of possible sources of funding??? Upcoming period 2014 -2020 - the regional cooperation programs. Baltic Sea Region program 2014-2020, Northern Dimension Partnership Culture; EUSBSR; Swedish Institute, Thematic Partnerships, National Funds? Thematic Partnerships Creation of a full scale Project application: shared among WEG members and divided into respective working packages (WP).

7 THE BENEFITS of Cooperation Essential contribution to the social and economic development of the region and local communities using the potential of culture tourism Promotion of the cultural heritage of the BS region and making it available for the wide audience of culture travelers To increase the amount of culture travelers to the BSR: domestic, regional, Europe –and World wide To update and collect information about touristic destinations in BSR attractive for culture travelers

8 BENEFITS To gain from common promotion and supporting activities by establishment of the sustainable platform for promotion and marketing of Culture Touristic Destinations in BSR To attract the investments for tourist infrastructure, support small business’ capacity The Common Culture Tourism Map in the region of Baltic Sea –in electronic and printed versions The common Calendar of cultural-historical Events of the BSR – related to culture tourism historical reconstruction shows, exhibitions, folk fests – which will allow to coordinate the planning activities and avoid to coincide in time
