8 Advancement Regional Board Main responsibility – coordinate non- revenue and revenue activities Advise Board of financial goals of annual fund/capital campaign Reviews case statement for all advancement efforts Coordinates public relations, enrollment management, alum relations and fund raising Facilitates Trustees and volunteers in non-revenue and revenue activities Only group that brings in financial resources All Trustees should be involved in Advancement Advisory Council Main responsibility – coordinate and recommend non-revenue and revenue activities Advise Board of financial goals of annual fund/capital campaign Reviews proposals for all advancement efforts and make recommendations Reviews public relations, enrollment management, alum relations and fund raising Suggests ways to include all Council Members and volunteers in non- revenue and revenue activities Only group that brings in financial resources All Council Members should be involved in Advancement

9 Facilities Regional Board Assists in creation of Campus master plan Conducts a full and thorough maintenance audit Assists Director of Facilities with campus security and implementation of master plan Advisory Council Review and recommend guidelines relating to capital repairs and overall maintenance Adress areas of safety, security, cleanliness, building inspection and code, five year building and grounds plan, and government – energy grants

13 Appointment of Committee Members Regional Board Appointed by Chairperson of the Board, at the annual meeting, subject to Board Approval Each Committee composed of at least three trustees – may serve on more than 1 committee Non-trustee voice but no vote 1 year term- can serve more than 1 year Advisory Council Appointed by President of Council with input from pastor/CA and principal Council member must chair a committee- ex-officio 1 year term- can serve more than 1 year

15 Attributes of an Effective Committee Has a clear statement of its purpose in written form Believes in and respects democratic values Has a responsible leader who guides the committee process Has a carefully selected membership Carefully plans the work to be done Works through the assignments one step at a time

16 Attributes of an Effective Committee Has a sense of priorities and timing Has compatible members who participate in deliberation and discussion Works as a team rather than as individuals Has adequate agendas, minutes and records Gets infusion of “new blood” periodically Evaluates itself regularly
