2 A Little About Me This is my 8 th year teaching middle school English/Language Arts. I moved to Austin, TX last summer. I graduated from SMU with a BA in English & Creative Writing, and I completed my MEd in Literacy Instruction at UTA. This is my 8 th year teaching middle school English/Language Arts. 4 Homework Hall/Late Work Policy Work not completed on time will result in Homework Hall (After school in the library from 4-5). A late bus is provided. HW Hall is also available in the mornings beginning at 7:30. If your student is unable to attend either, please e-mail to arrange a better time. 8 7th Grade STAAR Writing Writing On the first day, students will have four hours to complete an editing and revising section (MC) and one writing prompt. On the second day, students will have four hours to complete two writing prompts. One of them might be expository writing and the other might be a personal narrative. One of the writing selections (from day 1 or 2) is used as a test prompt, but students will not know which one. Students will only have 26 lines (1 page) to respond to each prompt. 9 Reading Log Expectations Academic: 500 pages 1 st -9 weeks with an additional 100 added each 9 weeks.
