1 11.4 Notes – Drug Use and Abuse What does the nervous system control? –Senses, thoughts, movements, and body functions neurons – cells that make up the nervous system (nerve cells) How many parts are there to the nervous system? –2 central nervous system – “CNS” the brain and the spinal cord peripheral nervous system – “PNS” the nerves that connect the central nervous system to all parts of the body
