3. 1. David wants to build house for the Lord! II.2SAMUEL 7:1-2 A.David’s palace is built and skirmishes still going on! 1. David wants the Lord to have permanent structure.

4. a) Seems like a great idea. III.2SAMUEL 7:3 A.The Lord is “with” David! 1. Nathan a prophet of God a) It has to be from the Lord?

5. IV.2SAMUEL 7:4-7 A. The Lord saying to Nathan: 1. Uh oh! a) Some valuable lessons here: (1) Prophets were godly not perfect!

6. (a) Samuel almost missed David. (b) Deuteronomy 18:21-22 (2) David not a perfect man. b) So we have 2 godly men c) The other a prophet of God! (1) Both forgot to ask the Lord.

7. (a) HE DIDN’T! (i) Reciting what He has done for David! V.2SAMUEL 7:8-16 A.Ever asked a question you wished you never made? 1. I took you David!

8. 2. Have been with you! 3. Cut off your enemies! 4. Made your name great! 5. Give Israel a place of their own! 6. Gave you judges! 7. Given YOU a house! 8. Will establish your son’s kingdom! 9. Will be his father!

9. 10. Will chastise him! 11. YOUR kingdom will be established FOREVER! a) What did you want to do for me??? b) There is nothing I can do for you. (1) There is something we can ALL do: (a) Matthew 22:34-40

10. (a) Thought he had something to offer. (i) God’s reply not wasted on David. VI.2SAMUEL 7:17-29 A.Beautiful response from David!

11. 1. Psalms 51:16-17 2. Isaiah 1:11-18 VII.CONCLUSION A.It is about what He has done for us! 1. We can make sacrifices and not have heart of God!
