And in fact, they did turn his heart away from the Lord. 8 Lessons from the Kings & Prophets 1.Spiritual leadership is vitally important. 2.Yahweh demands absolute priority in our lives. 3.God wants more than ritual religion – He wants our love and work for justice. 4.The Lord is unbelievably patient. 5. 9 Suffering, Discipline, Punishment God does not tempt us to sin. (James 1:13) Jesus understands our suffering. (Hebrews 4:7; 12:2) God always works for our good. (Romans 8:28) You may be suffering because of BAD CHOICES by you or others. (Genesis 29:25-30; Proverbs 24:23) You may be TESTED by God. (1 Peter 1:6-7; cf.
