Corvinus University Budapest 3 „Your ambition is our profession”  Establishment: Fall 1996 – the first career management unit in Central and Eastern Europe. 10 year anniversary!  Founder : USAID Grant (Know-how from Indina University Kelly School of Business)  Number of employees –at the foundation: 1 academic+1 student helper+1 administrative. –now: 4 full time HR professionals +2-4 student helper  External experts : eg. Teachers of Psychogical Faculty

Event management  The Conventional : company presentations, open days (weekly)  The most popular : Career Pizza (company presentation followed by a pizza party)  The most well known: CareerExpo ( two day job fair, 2 times per annum, in spring and autumn. 6-8000 visitors from 30-35 universities, 60-120 exhibitors.  Latest activity : CV screening followed by preselection interviews and company test writing (once in a month, 60- 200 students per event)

Information services For job hunters :  Professional job hunting tricks (role playing, (mock interview) etc.),  Providing information about key factors to find the “ideal job” (tasks at different fields and positions, the value of degrees and professions on the labour market, the list of top companies and long term promotion facilities) For employers : preferences of fresh graduates (survey - 2 times a year since 1998 what kind of motivations has the fresh graduates on the labor market) (questionnaire)

Career guidance  Individual and group guidance (small group of students: max. 5 students)  Graphology, and psychological tests, the fundamentals of legal questions (Labour law)  Career management seminar (course: 15 weeks, two hours per week, preferred before JOB Fair, 2x per year)  Career issues /brochures/; –(Navigator 2005 – Plan Your Career! (Written, pp 80), Career CD, usually made in 5-15000 copies annually

Networking  CDO is an organiser and a participant of national and international forums, conferences and trainings since 1998  Founder of Hungarian Association of Career Centers, (Federtaion of individuals) ( CDOs at: CUB, TEUB, UPÉCS, USZEGED, UDEBRECEN, UMISKOLC. Not legal entities): Challenge: Career planning is compulsory by Law on HE, came into force on March 1, 2006.  Founder of National Association of Student Services (not active)  Member of NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers, USA) Annual conference: Good source of information.  Daily contacts with the Hungarian Higher Education Institutes (35) and with 20+ European, American universities

Corvinus University Budapest 13 Networking with EUI-Net 1.Estalishing communicational channel between EUI-Net and CDO at Corvinus University of Budapest 2.Evaluating the possibility of linking on-line systems of EUI-Net and CDO at CUB 3.Initiation of organizing a network of CDOs of Europe (CDOE) including all steakholders of job management 4.Linkage of network of CDOE with EUI-Net 5.EUI-Net – CDOE joint actions 1.Virtual 2.Joint conferences on Europen job opportunities for young graduates and needs of companies 3.Joint research etc.

Integrating cooperation with National CDOs into new EUI- Net application 3. Establishing the largest networks of Universities and CDOs in Europe to match employers’ needs and student expectations on mobility and job hunting
