DAQ Status

F.S. Cafagna, Coll. Meeting 16 March 2009 2 Hardware  In 555, one equipped crate for VME readout  top crate  9U crate  Power Supply  FAN tray  VN2738  CAEN PCI  bot crate  6U/9U crate  Power Supply  FAN tray  V2718  CAEN PCI  TTCCi  FEC  locker  V1718 (USB)  2x V2718

F.S. Cafagna, Coll. Meeting 16 March 2009 3 Hardware  In IP5 one partially equipped crate (TTCci, FED and Opto-rx missing):  6U/9U crate  9U crate  2x Power Supply  2x FAN tray  V1718 (USB)  V2718 (PCI)  FEC  2x mFEC  1x FEDKIT  1x 64bit PC (not in the CMS network)  There should be a TTCci labeled as TOTEM-CASTOR  One CAEN PCI card in the online PC to be replaced

F.S. Cafagna, Coll. Meeting 16 March 2009 4 Hardware  In H8 there are two working system. One with VME readout, the other with S-Link readout (old version):  2 6U/9U crates to be return to El Pool  rack RA0626  6U/9U crate  Power Supply  FAN tray  V2718  CAEN PCI  TTCci  FEC  1x mFEC  TOTFED  OPTO-RX  1x FEDKIT  1x 64bit PC  rack RA  6U/9U crate  Power Supply  FAN tray  V2718  CAEN PCI  TTCci (From Bari)  FEC (From Bari)  1x mFEC  TOTFED  OPTO-Rx  1x 64bit PC

F.S. Cafagna, Coll. Meeting 16 March 2009 5 Hardware  At the moment we have 3 working system at CERN, 1 in Genova (?)  There are 2 “half system” (TTCci & FEC are missing)  We have no more FEC & TTCci. We “sacrificed” the test system in Bari for the latest H8 installation.

F.S. Cafagna, Coll. Meeting 16 March 2009 6 Activities  Full support to the detectors in 555 and H8 (Everybody)  Opto-RX firmware maintenance and test (Michele)  Support to test activities in 555 (Ervin, Juha, Michele)  Software development for VME readout (Ervin, Juha)

F.S. Cafagna, Coll. Meeting 16 March 2009 7 Future Activities  Support to the detectors (as usual)  IP5 system review, repair and new software & hardware deployment. (PC OSs have been updated in IP5... )  Debug and test of VME firmware  Development of DCS interface (we plan to set-up a test environment in 555)

F.S. Cafagna, Coll. Meeting 16 March 2009 8 Conclusion  Detector support is draining all the manpower.  No hardware to setup any other system even in IP5.  To be ready in IP5 we need to:  Deploy the software in the new OS  Find: TTCci & FEC  Is it the interface to DCS mandatory ?  There are no resources for software development until we have to support all those system and activities.
