9 Does Safety Pay? Most safety improvements have well over a 1 to 1 cost/benefit ratio. Some safety improvements have over 300 to 1 cost/benefit ratio. For every $1 you spend your get over $300 in savings.

10 How do we pay for Safety? Consider using normal construction and maintenance funds. –Reduce the carnage and severity of injuries as soon as possible –You have control of the priority of what gets done first Find ways to get all crashes reported to begin creating data that will allow safety funds to be used on your reservation.
