Safety Procedures During a Tornado: Before a Tornado Hits:
Have a plan so everyone knows where to go if a tornado hits. Prepare an emergency kit with food and water for your home in case of disaster. Go to a basement or the lowest level of your house. Get inside a room that does not have windows. (Which rooms could this be?) Put a piece of sturdy furniture or a mattress over you.

Safety Procedures con’t
What if you are at school? What if you are outside/in a car? Follow safety procedure set up by school. Go to designated area and sit down on the floor. Crouch down on your knees and protect your head with your hands. If you are in your car, do not try to out run a tornado. Get outside of your car and lay in a ditch or low lying area. Lay flat on the ground. Avoid power lines or damaged areas.

Assignment: Devise a safety plan for your house if we were to have a tornado. Where could you go? What could you grab to cover you up? Is there enough space for your whole family?
