After the Flood “Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.” God appeared to both Abram and Cornelius. They were both given instructions requiring a decision, action and travel. Both needed to leave behind their nativity. Both became associated with “the Name” (Shem – Melchizedek and Christ). Cornelius and his house (Japheth) received the blessing of ‘dwelling in the tents of Shem’.
