Today, you’ll be learning about a modern crisis of human rights violation that impacts children and young adults in today’s world – the crisis of human trafficking. There are three main ways an individual can be exploited, meaning ‘to make use of a person or thing meanly and unfairly, for one’s own advantage.’ Remember – If a person is being exploited, his/her basic human rights are being jeopardized or violated. The three main forms of trafficking are: Forced labor Child soldiery Sex industry Which of these forms of trafficking do you think are “close to home” – in terms of your local community and the United States? Which do you think are worldwide concerns?
