(Facility) Support - LCGT Handy Man - The definition of “Support” is now under construction. Many missing-tasks will be delivered to the support group. CCD monitor deliver  Circuit? Scattered light control (IFO and Input optics)  IOP? Local sensing of mirrors’ motion  Suspension? Network Etc… Anyway, in 2010, the support group supports about mainly facility including… Clean environment construction and rule Power supply and HAM(60Hz) buster Entrance System Network LCGT f2f meeting Sept 27 2010 @ Kashiwa, Chiba

How to Make Clean Environment Dry the area Keep out dust Not raise dust Not collect dust Avoid sound and vibration - Basic Policy - LCGT f2f meeting Sept 27 2010 @ Kashiwa, Chiba

Humidity Control Humidity kills IFO Problems ① Water from concrete walls and floors. ② Water from side ditch. Solutions for tunnel section ① Baking after construction. But, no money and no time due to tight schedule ? ② Dry coverage only around vacuum instruments. ③ Vacuum ducts taping with sheets.(but stainless steel) ④ Duct supports should be made of stainless steel ? or steel with corrosion control. Solutions for Center, End station ① Baking. LCGT f2f meeting Sept 27 2010 @ Kashiwa, Chiba

Dust Control Dust kills Optics Problems ① Dust from Outside (arm and entrance tunnels). ② Dust from walls (blowing concrete) and floors. ③ Dust from people. Solutions ① Clean and dry air generation using outside fresh air.(Sound and vibration should be small.) ② Keep a clean air flow from stations to outside. ③ Antistatic floor and wall painting, etc…. ④ Extra clean area around TM Tanks using deck structure. ⑤ Air shower system introduction and clothes policy. ⑥ Rules about instrument introduction. LCGT f2f meeting Sept 27 2010 @ Kashiwa, Chiba

Vibration and Sound Control No additional vibration and sound Problems ① Clean and Dry air Generator (CDG) makes large sound and vibration. ② HEPA in the lab also makes sound and vibration. Solutions ① CDG is put as far as away from stations. ② HEPAs are turned off during operation in stations ③ Small CDG in tunnels for vacuum stuff and electronics should be enclosed in some houses. LCGT f2f meeting Sept 27 2010 @ Kashiwa, Chiba

Clean Environment Ideal Plan 1 Dry and clean air generation Access Tunnel 10000 1F1F (Side view)(Top view) 10000 クレーン 1000 Entrance Anterior room 1 2F2F Anterior room 2 Anterior room LCGT f2f meeting Sept 27 2010 @ Kashiwa, Chiba

Compromised Plan 1 by Tunnel Group LCGT f2f meeting Sept 27 2010 @ Kashiwa, Chiba

Power Supply Problems ① There is no ground earth in the tunnel. ② According to experience, HAM (60Hz) spoiled IFO control and data quality a lot, unless it was minimized. ③ Ground loops due to cabling often troubles. ④ How supply power line for the end station ? (from center ? or individual?) Solutions ① 6000VAC(where is it set ?)  100VAC(where?)  24VDC. ② 100VAC generation is isolated from lab area or not? If isolated, many commercial electronics should be modified. ③ 24VDC is delivered to each electronics? If so, Be careful with ground loops. ④ Ground copper bars will be set on walls in stations for ? ⑤ Never use switching regulators. ⑥ Battery is possible? LCGT f2f meeting Sept 27 2010 @ Kashiwa, Chiba

Entrance and Security System Conditions and Requirements ① The LCGT entrance is completely different with that for SK. ② We should keep tabs on every worker inside the mine by ourselves. ③ We should make some rules (security, car usage, emergency contact) and do security education like SK. We should note especially security in 3km tunnel !! ④ “Emergency route”, “O2 monitor”, “fire-alarm box”, “surveillance monitors”, “air bottles”, “hand extinguisher”, etc… are required from the point of view of fire laws. ⑤ A security guard should come around. ⑥ Mobile PHS and commercial mobile phone around the entrance introduction. (We can scarcely use a mobile phone at Atotsu Entrance.) Solutions ① We should learn many things from SK group. ② Can we ask SK to extend his system and a guard security for LCGT by cost sharing ? In the worst case, we should manual entrance check. ③ Ask a commercial company to build an antenna ? LCGT f2f meeting Sept 27 2010 @ Kashiwa, Chiba

Entrance and Security System LCGT f2f meeting Sept 27 2010 @ Kashiwa, Chiba CLIO members and collaborators use this system.

Network Present Conditions & Requirements ① Several 1G or 10G lines for SK area are ready, but we don’t know we can use one of them that are belong to SK group. ② Some academic network is available at the Mozumi UT buildings. ③ Because we have a plan to build a house at the new entrance for LCGT, should we have an individual line from Mozumi UT buildings? ④ How distribute the network to the end stations ? Because the Y-arm end around Mozumi can be directly provided from UT building. Whereas, X-arm end should be provided from the center station? LCGT f2f meeting Sept 27 2010 @ Kashiwa, Chiba
