Notes for Lookup table Data in lookup tables must be in an ascending order You should use absolute reference to fill out the function e.g. use $A$1:$A$5 Instead of A1:A5 for values that you don’t want its location to change in fill out You should use a value of 0 for rank E, so that any value from 0 to 500 will be E Always, ask your self if the answer is correct or not for randomly selected values 1/21/2009CPSC203- Week2- Lab17
8
If-Statement Provide another column rank2 to calculate the same function in slide 5 using If statement IF (logical expression, true value, false value) e.g. IF(A2>200,”A”,IF(A2>400,”B”)) 1/21/2009CPSC203- Week2- Lab18
9
Notes for If-Statement Don’t forget quotes for string, e.g. “A” Check your brackets balancing Don’t forget commas or don’t add additional commas. Always, ask yourself if the answer is correct or not for randomly selected values Don’t forget >= if required 1/21/2009CPSC203- Week2- Lab19
