November 2013: Updates from Hahgoot Part 2 Left: drinking chocolate milk from a cup from Pnina Kuppher Right: Hahgoot enjoys making up advertisements for real or made up products.
2
Left: she made an advertisement to sell grandpa Ido’s Salicornia and he was so excited by it! Grandma Jaike, on the right side of the drawing, is saying: “I loved it so much I changed my name to Sally!”... Right: Hahgoot has many unfinished stories and projects in her many sketch books.
3
It’s been months since the food stickers from Lisa ran out, but Hahgoot still make drawings of meals like that craft kit (top) Left: Hahgoot in her room with Joofy
4
Top left: a wolf collage Right: from Hahgoot’s “Candy land” series The top one is the gingerbread kids when they were babies.
5
More “candy land” kids: Left: the gingerbread kids go into the real world and are amazed that things are not made out of candy Right: a winter scene in candy land, where they frolic in cream...
6
Hahgoot’s “cars” project returned from school with lots of praise 2\3 C’s sunflowers have been growing rapidly

Admiring the giant sunflowers after school Hahgoot did the swim school (for two weeks every morning they spent the first two hours in swimming classes before school) and as you can tell from the look on her face – she hated every moment... She did her best to do as little as possible and spent the afternoons at home exploding with meltdowns.
8
When she got her swimming certificate, she was astonished to find out she achieved only “enter, walk, exit” and could swim 0 km... We weren’t very surprised, as the reality is that if you make no effort to move your body independently in the water you won’t learn to swim... Hahgoot was kind of hoping swimming will happen to her while she is daydreaming but it is not how things work in real life... Hahgoot saw her certificate and hoped we’d flip and yell at her that she “shall never swim again with such poor grades!”, but to her disappointment both Barak and I were delighted she got a shock with a reality check and informed her that next year she’ll be doing the swim school AGAIN and will achieve MUCH BETTER results. She thought we were crazy... We were happy she got a slap in the face to wake her up. We can’t make her swim, only provide opportunity and teachers. She has to move her body herself and find the motivation to learn, because we can’t do it for her.

The “shock therapy” worked: the day she got the certificate, after calming down from her fit of rage and emotional rollercoaster, she asked to wear her goggles in the bath and put her whole face in to blow bubbles (AT LAST!). Next she started watching the swimming video Hanna lent us and was happy to allow water to be poured over her head with no screaming (all good for Alma as well!)
10
Hahgoot’s school had its Halloween disco (a week after the real holiday’s date). Hahgoot went as a Gothic Vampire but Alma was sick so she just had a witch’s hat on and a very blocked nose.
11
With Reilly, after the disco, who was also a Vampire with wild frizzy hair!
12
Now that Chanukah was underway, it was time to start the Christmas cards madness...

In our next presentation: Alma’s updates!
