3
Find out about the topic or identify what you already know “Ask an expert” People, books, websites Example: Who would you ask? (Farmer, bullrider) Where did the myth come from? Observations you have made before
4
Predict the outcome to the problem IF …, THEN… Example: IF a bull went into a china shop, THEN he would break the china.
5
Develop a procedure to test the hypothesis Example: Create a china shop in a bull pin and record number of dishes broken
6
Record the results of the experiment Tables Graphs Charts Pictures/ videos *Just to name a few Example: Video of bulls in the china shop How many dishes were broken?
7
Compare the hypothesis to the results of the experiment Were you right or wrong? Example: We were not right! The bulls did not break the china
8
ALL good results are repeatable (works more than once) Example: Try with MANY different bulls
9
ALL good results are repeatable (works more than once) Try This: Flip a coin 10 times and record the number of heads Vs, tails Flip a coin 100 times and record the number of heads vs. tails What do you notice about your data?
