4 Contents Newspaper policy
A tabloid R. Murdoch's position : The quality of a newspaper does not depend on its content but on the amount of its readers A tabloid : Tabloid journalism tends to emphasize topics such as sensational crime stories, astrology, gossip columns about the personal lives of celebrities and sports stars, and junk food news. Such journalism is commonly associated with tabloid sized newspapers.

The Page 3 : Stephanie Rhan was the first topless girl to appear on the 17th of Novembre It then began a regular fixture even though it was controversial. 2003: Rebekah Wade became editor and some people thought it would be dropped... Today : For 35 years, around women have been on the daily Page 3.

6 Contents Scandals Sports: the Hillborough disaster
The Hillborough disaster : a human crush that occurred on 15 April 1989 in live at Hillsborough. The cover of The Sun : The headline "THE TRUTH", and 3 sub-headlines: "Some fans picked pockets of victims", "Some fans urinated on the brave cops" and "Some fans beat up PC giving kiss of life". The aftermaths : Apologies on 7 July 2004 of The Sun, saying that it had "committed the most terrible mistake in its history" by publishing it.

Against French and German : During the 1980s and 1990s, the nationalities were routinely described in copy and headlines as "frogs", "krauts" or "hun". The nickname of Chirac was « the Worm » 2003 : accused of racism by the Government over its criticisms of what it perceived as the "open door" policy on immigration. According to the newspaper, it was not racist to suggest that a tide of unchecked illegal immigrants was increasing the risk of terrorist attacks and infectious diseases.

Non existent political line A labour background : In continuation to the Daily Herald a support of the Labour. A support of Margaret Tatcher : On 3 May 1979, it ran the unequivocal front page headline, « Vote Tory this time ». Back to the Labour : The Sun switched support to Labour on 18 March 1997: « The sun backs Blair ». Back to the Conservative : On the 30th of September the headline « Labour's lost it », The Sun shows that it change its point of view.
