As I move through the presentation I will first provide a simple overview of the 5 key requirements.
I will then explain how ProjectWise Navigator fits into your iterative workflow for project design review and analysis and finally, I will share a few frequently asked questions regarding product licensing.
So lets begin.

3. ProjectWise Navigator is a visual collaboration tool used for immersive project design review and analysis
ProjectWise Navigator: includes many “Innovations by MicroStation” which make it highly interoperable, powerful, and very easy to use. The result is comprehensive support for a broad range of file formats.
ProjectWise Navigator: built to satisfy key design requirements for visual collaboration: enabling users to assemble, review and enrich design content, analyze designs and produce intelligent deliverables.
ProjectWise Navigator is a visual collaboration tool. It is used for immersive project design review and analysis, it is used to support design and construction management processes and it is used to manage assets in real time.
ProjectWise Navigator includes many “Innovations by MicroStation” which make it highly interoperable, powerful, and very easy to use.
It also provides teams of people with a single windowed application to assemble, review and enrich project and design content, to analyze designs and the effects of design change and to produce intelligent deliverables.
And it is delivered to work on your Windows desktop, in a collaboration environment with ProjectWise StartPoint or in a managed environment with the ProjectWise Integration Server.

4. Assemble design content from different sources in file formats
Design and construction projects consist of 2D/3D content created using different applications and formats. The challenge is to assemble the pieces of content in one application for downstream processes.

On the desktop ProjectWise Navigator can assemble designs from any location to provide users with a single solution. Supported formats include DGN, DWG, PDF, PDS, PDMS, AutoPLANT, TriForma
The first of the 5 key requirements is “Assemble”. ProjectWise Navigator will enable teams to assemble in one place, project designs and engineering content from many different sources.
This is important because design and construction projects typically consist of 2D and 3D content which was created using different design and Office applications. The challenge has always been to assemble this information in one place for the execution of various activities.
So, on the desktop with ProjectWise Navigator, users can assemble designs from any location. Formats supported include DGN, DWG, PDF, PDS, PDMS, AutoPLANT, TriForma and hundreds more…
In a managed environment, ProjectWise Navigator enables teams to control and audit their design assembly and to manage hyperlinks to design information stored elsewhere.

5. Review designs in a single, immersive, visual environment
For every content author there are between 10 and 20 reviewers needing to master different applications to review content. The challenge for the reviewer is learning to use all applications.
On the desktop, ProjectWise Navigator provides a comprehensive, immersive and easy-to-use review tool for a mixture of 2D/3D content. ProjectWise Navigator is all anyone will need for design/project review.
ProjectWise Navigator also enables teams to review designs using the same single immersive and visual environment.
Projects are complex, and for every person who creates design content there are between 10 and 20 reviewers each needing to master the different design applications used to create the content. Can you imagine having to learn all of the different applications used in order to review your design content? No.
And thankfully now you don’t. On the desktop, ProjectWise Navigator provides a comprehensive, immersive, and visual review and analysis tool for a mixture of 2D and 3D content.
And in a managed environment, ProjectWise Navigator benefits from caching servers and Microsoft SharePoint integration, for improved design control and collaboration across distributed enterprises.

6. Enrich original design content within an iterative workflow
Design development is iterative; requiring continuous, progressive content enrichment from a range of project participants. The challenge is to enrich original design content, to round-trip the knowledge shared.
On the desktop, ProjectWise Navigator enables teams to enrich design content by adding comments and additional information inside the native file format, for full design collaboration and round-trip editing.

Hence the challenge facing teams here, and the 3rd key requirement, is to enrich original design content, within an iterative workflow to round-trip the knowledge shared.

7. Analyze if, how and when; informing decisions, avoiding cost
Project costs escalate when design oversight turns into problems on-site and progress is halted. The challenge is to analyze design early, improve design iteration, reduce lost time on site, control project cost.
On the desktop, ProjectWise Navigator helps teams examine project design and constructability in a virtual environment; detecting clashes and simulating schedules and lighting conditions for improved design.

26. ProjectWise Passports are a versatile, portable, and global license for collaboration for users of all ProjectWise client and desktop applications.
One ProjectWise Passport will license one passport holder to use any ProjectWise client, desktop, or web application. It will also license the connection between these tools and any licensed ProjectWise Server.
ProjectWise Passports can not be pooled or shared: every PW user must each have a Passport, procured as a perpetual license, as a benefit of SELECT*, as a monthly subscription, or by ELS or MLS.
