General Information Supports sampling rates & resolutions up to 24bit/100kHz Note: The maximum sound quality is often limited by the soundcards qualities Unlimited amount of audio tracks In practice, the amount of tracks is limited by processor speed & RAMs capabilities

The Uses of Audacity Capturing live recordincs Transforming analog audio sources (Cassettes, LPs) to digital format Conversions between audio file formats Recording situations which require multitracking (band demos etc.)

Recording The sound source can be mic in / line input Different tracks can be adjusted to capture different sound sources The strength of the incoming sound signal can be monitored from level meters Note: never exceed 0 dB level when working with digital audio!!

Sound Editing There are typical clipboard functionalities available Undo/Redo support Fade in/Fade out operations by drawing amplitude lines manually Sliders for adjusting stereo panning and levels of individual tracks

Effects There are many pre-installed effects: Compressor Equalizer Reverb Audacity supports VST effectsVST effects Additional effects are installed as.dll files
