Comfort II Whats New (updated Jan 2008)
2
Two-Piece Design Consists of CPU Board and DSP Board, joined by a 28 way connector CPU Board has Inputs, Outputs, Siren, Strobe, KA/KB, 12V etc for Alarm functions DSP Board has Tel In, Tel Out, Voice, Mic, power supply for Voice and Dialing functions
3
Slave New Generation Slave will be the CPU Board with Slave firmware Power Supply board will replace the DSP board connected to the Slave
4
Flash Upgrades Flash Firmware upgrade is available as Plug-in Module (MPU01) Comfort II with Flash MPU plug-in (see picture) can be upgraded by firmware download via Comfigurator 2.2.x. This requires new UCM05 In 2008, Comfort II PCB will come with built-in Flash firmware and will not require MPU01
5
UCM05 New UCM05 is able to download new firmware upgrades to Comfort II with built- in Flash or Flash MPU. Requires Comfigurator 2.2.x Programming Cable connects UCM05 with Comfort II, Slave II or UCM05/EIB/CBUS to be upgraded IR Learning is standard feature
6
Local Expansion Modules LEM01-M2 or LEM02-M2 or LEM03-M2 will plug on top of CPU or Slave Board Output module will be plugged into LEM and can be removed
7
Battery Protection Battery protection function is built in. BPM01 Module not required. Prevents over-discharge of battery Current limits charging current to a low battery
8
Piggyback Modules Ringer Module RGR04 can be plugged in LEM can be plugged in Output Module can be plugged in. This allows damaged Outputs to be replaced without any downtime Firmware upgrades can be plugged in Saves space in the enclosure
9
Isolation Comfort circuitry is isolated from earth. Plastic standoffs for mounting PCB Provides better protection from lighting induced surges. All Inputs and Outputs have been tested to 4kV surge. Improved Telephone line protection
10
Testing/Approvals EMC compatibility for US and European standards Safety testing for CE Mark PSTN standards compliance to US, European and Australian standards Tested to extended surge voltages (4 KV) compared to European standards
11
Full Duplex Intercom Full Duplex Intercom between Tel and KP/DP and between KP and DP New KP04 versions needed with better acoustic isolation KP03 and DP03 replaces KP01/02 and DP01 DP and KP have separate Mic/Voice connections
12
Various Improvements Better Busy Tone detection during recording, voice menu, Intercom Automatic Gain Control (AGC) during recording
13
Vocabulary Tool VoiceProc software allows customisation of wordlists for specific applications and development of vocabularies in other languages VoicePlay allows sentences to be heard in compressed and original form
14
System Voltage CPU and DSP circuitry operates at 3V instead of 5V. This means analog input voltage is 0 to 3V
15
Other New Features Conditional Branch Instructions will improve if/Then code generation 32 Time Programs 16 Reminder Messages Say Word Action 64 User Timers
16
Compatibility All current external modules on RS485 bus will remain compatible (Slaves, RIOS, Keypads, Door Stations, UCMs) KP01, KP02, KP04, DP01 will remain compatible but with poor performance for full duplex intercom. Upgrade to KP03, KP04/X, DP03 is recommended
17
Comfort I v Comfort II Comfort I Ultra –8 reminders –16 time programs –16 User timers –One-way intercom ½ duplex between KP and DP –File System 24 –Firmware upgrade via change of U1 IC Comfort II Ultra –16 reminders –32 time programs –64 User timers –Two-way intercom full duplex between KP and DP –File System 34 –Firmware upgrade via download to MPU01 or Flash firmware
