5 AES Engineers Scholarship AES Engineers scholarship deadline is October 5, 2012. The scholarship will be awarding $500 to the winner(s) each year. The application process includes a submitted essay on one of the two topics that appear on the scholarship page of our website http://www.aesengineers.com/scholarshi ps.htm

6 Gates Scholarship On September 25 th a representative for the Gates scholarship will be meeting in room 202 from 9:30 am- 11:00am. Any student that is interested in applying, and would like to be part of this session must sign up with guidance or with YDS.

8 Scholarship Night On September 25 th Indian Education Center will host a Scholarship Night beginning at 6:00 pm. Parents and student are encouraged to attend.

10 Selective Service If you are a man ages 18-25 and living in the US, then you must register with Selective Service. According to law a man must register with Selective Service within 30 days of his 18 th birthday. Register at any Post Office or online at http://ww.ss.govhttp://ww.ss.gov

11 SAT & ACT Announcement Seniors and Juniors: If you eat free or reduced lunch you may be eligible for a fee waiver for the SAT Test and College Applications. See your Guidance Counselor for information.

30 NC School of Science and Mathematics Applications for the NC School of Science & Mathematics c/o 2015 will be accepted from 10 th grade students beginning Oct. 15 th - Jan. 15 th. Interested students are required to take the SAT in October, November, or January of their sophomore year. For more information, see Ms. Roxanne in guidance.

33 Science & Engineering Fair Workshop UNCP will be hosting a regional science fair workshop for teachers working for students on science fair projects or anyone conducting local science fairs. The workshop will be held on September 25, 2012 at 5:30p.m. in the Oxendine Science Building at UNCP.
