9 Conclusions Due to the results of the questionaire we started a lot of projects to motivate and convince students. Students don´t read because of other medias Implementations: owlfinch; Antolin, Experience: The combination of modern medias, like Internet, and reading motivates students. But their main motive is playing games. They are not interested in literature and international cooperation/ communication but in collecting points for quizes. So at our school they enjoy “Antolin” more than “owlfinch”.

10 Conclusions Students don´t read because it´s boring Implementations: Reading events; reading night; summer reading club; book safari; “Papyrus”; “Heartbeat”; Romeo and Juliet; “Ich schenk dir eine Geschichte”; “Bookworms of St.-Georg Experience: Those activities are very motivating. Students love to take part and to act out their creativity in painting, writing and acting. We want to continue and widen out reading events.

11 Conclusions Students don´t read because of lack of comprehension Implementations: “Stikk”; Salzburger Screening Experience: At the beginning it is a hard work to implement a habitual using of dictionaries. Students don´t read because there are little reading models at home Implementations: VIPs as roll models: Athlets, local Politians and Rotaries read out Experience: Those activities are very motivating. Students love to take part because they get in close contact to people they know from medias.

12 Conclusions Due to gender and age students need a guidance to adaequate literature Implementations: all activities in NPL and “Leseinsel”; class literature; teachers training Experience: The teacher has to know the interests, the standard of lingual abilities and reading skills of the students to select adaequate literature. Even reading classics could be fun! Nevertheless nowadays it´s a hard work to guide students to books because of the rivalry of other medias.
