3 Scientific name "Primula officinalis" boot cuckoo is a very famous herb especially for its soothing qualities. Extracts of this plant successfully replace chemical sleeping pills for insomnia sufferers. Boots cuckoo relaxes the body, helping to remove nerve disorders. It is used for medicinal purposes both rhizome with roots and flowers.

4 Blood warrior or scientific name Lathyrus odoratus. It is a perennial, rhizome is full of tuberose, hence the species name. The flowers are red-purple. It is a common plant in crops and grassland.

5 Chess flower… It is a perennial, 20 - 40 cm. The area of spread of this species decreases continuously due to massive collections. Blooms only for 7 days. The species is now protected by law because it is considered a rare flower. Motley tulip (Fritillaria meleagris)

7 Smârdarul or mountain peony (Rhododendron Kotschyi) grows spontaneously in the alpine dwarf shrubs. Is not tolerate transplanting a plant, which makes it impossible for the cultivation of gardens. Mountain peony is perennial and retain green leaves throughout the year.

10 Capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus) is a species of bird in the pheasant family. Since 2011,in Romania hunting is prohibited forever

13 Protected species It is a very beautiful bird of passage that comes to our country, the Danube Delta to lay eggs, and autumn turns in hot countries. Sometimes,in winter, we can meet it in unfrozen waters.

14 Pelican We see them in Danube Delta (not more than 3500 known pairs hatching all over Europe!) Rare species, under the law, whose number is continuously decreasing

15 Dalmatian Pelican Few specimen… 500 in all Europe It is distinguished from common pelican through feather color which is gray..

16 Romania emblem Protected species found increasingly less… In our area was seen on the peaks of mountains and near to mountain lakes… Eagle Lake

20 Chamois (Rupicapra Rupicapra), a true pride of Romania, dwells on mountain ridges, hard to reach even the most experienced climbers. You should consider yourself lucky if you ever had the chance to silhouette on any of the peaks of the Carpathians.

21 The scientific name is Lynx lynx and lynx in Romanian, is currently the largest cat in the wild fauna of Romania. Carpathians called panther, lynx is natural spread from the mountains to the Danube Delta, with great versatility and ecological amplitude. At present, however, outside the Carpathians and Subcarpathian, number of copies are very little found (2000), due to uncontrolled hunting practiced in the past 100 years.

24 Scientific name Salmo trutta fario Is called "indigenous" fast lives in rivers, in the Carpathians. It is adapted to environmental conditions, requiring clear and cold water whose temperature does not pass the 17 to 18 degrees, rich in oxygen.

25  Vipers of this species are protected;  Living in the hill;  In captivity refuse food and die.

26 The causes of extinction of species in Romania are:  habitat degradation through increased agriculture;  forest mismanagement of grazing;  excessive hunting and poaching.

27  Over 6000 species have already received a red flag announcing the danger of extinction;  Destruction of their territory, poaching and uncontrolled hunting led to the threat of some of the most diverse species.

28 Do not forget! Every time when we destroy rare species we need to think that man may soon become a rare species!
