12 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. 1 Corinthians 16:19-20 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. John 1:14a

13 your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. Human nature is both spiritual and physical. We aren’t spirits “trapped” in our bodies. The Church has always maintained that we are embodied spirits, or spiritualized bodies. Theology of the Body for Beginners

14 your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. Tragically, many Christians grow up thinking of their bodies (especially their sexuality) as inherent obstacles to the spiritual life. Many think Christian teaching considers their spirits to be “good” and their bodies to be “bad.” Such thinking couldn’t be further from the truth. Theology of the Body for Beginners
