Finally, I decided to walk in Christ. Thus began my journey.
I wanted to get my life right with God. I had been seeking spiritual peace for decades. Finally, I decided to walk in Christ. Thus began my journey. This slide concentrates on Faith and Jesus’ Promise.
2
Jesus told them: The only one who has seen the Father is the one who has come from him. No one else has ever seen the Father. I tell you for certain that everyone who has faith in me has eternal life.
3
I am the bread that gives life
I am the bread that gives life! Your ancestors ate manna in the desert, and later they died.
4
I am that bread from heaven. Everyone who eats it will live forever
I am that bread from heaven! Everyone who eats it will live forever. My flesh is the life-giving bread that I give to the people of this world.
5
I tell you for certain that you won’t live unless you eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man.
6
But if you do eat my flesh and drink my blood, you will have eternal life, and I will raise you to life on the last day.
7
My flesh is the true food, and my blood is the true drink If you eat my flesh and drink my blood, you are one with me, and I am one with you.
8
Many of Jesus’ disciples heard him and said, “This is too hard for anyone to understand.”
9
Then Jesus said: You cannot come to me, unless the Father makes you want to come. That is why I have told these things to all of you.
10
Understanding set in for me.
I must have faith, with my whole mind and my whole body. The Holy Spirit will guide me if I ask for its guidance.
11
I was baptized, with the full understanding of what baptism would mean for me. I would be cleansed and would now be held accountable - I would also have the Holy Spirit in me.
12
Once I was saved, I had a long walk
Once I was saved, I had a long walk. I still smoked cigarettes, marihuana, drank beer and had sex with my live-in boyfriend.
13
I talked behind the backs of my friends, I made fun of people, and I gossiped.
14
I cursed and sinned, even things I had not considered sins I was committing and had my work cut out for me.
15
Surely you understand faith.
The Scriptures say that “God accepted Abraham because Abraham had faith in him.” Abraham was asked to sacrifice his only son on an alter to God. Abraham only had one son, but he proceeded to sacrifice him. God stopped him and was pleased with Abraham for his display of faith.
16
The Scriptures say that Abraham would become the ancestor of many nations. This promise was made to Abraham because he had faith in God, who raises the dead to life and creates new things.
17
We can be acceptable to God simply by having faith in Jesus Christ.
All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. But God treats us much better than we deserve, and because of Christ Jesus, he freely accepts us and sets us free from our sins.
18
Of course you know that the Law was replaced by the Holy Spirit when Jesus interceded in our behalf and died so that we may have everlasting life. If you read the book of Romans it will explain God’s plan to have Jesus sacrifice his life for ours.
19
God has given all of us natural gifts
God has given all of us natural gifts. These gifts should be used to serve Christ our Lord. Once you discover your gift, and begin your walk in Christ you will truly be amazed at your growth potential.
20
You would do well to study the Lord’s Prayer
You would do well to study the Lord’s Prayer. Don’t just recite it, but actually check out the words and their “true” meaning. All prayer should be in earnest and not just recited without true feeling and belief in them. Let’s study together.
21
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Hallowed means sacred or revered as sacred. Who’s name is more sacred than God’s?
22
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. On Earth as it is in Heaven.
Self explanatory? In other words, when tribulation comes (the end) we are praying that God, not the Devil will have his say, on Earth as he has in Heaven.
23
Give us each day our daily bread.
We are asking him to provide not only food to eat, but food for our soul, through the bible. Bible studies are considered food for the soul. He is feeding us knowledge.
24
And Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
We are asking forgiveness for our sins and stating that we will forgive those who have sinned against us.
25
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
We are asking for his protection from the trickery and deception of the Devil and to protect us from harm from the Devil’s evil ways
26
For Thine is the kingdom, power and the glory forever. Amen.
Here we acknowledge that God has ownership of everything and is all powerful and we praise him forever. Amen means it is done.
