Metric The metric system uses liters 1 liter = 1 cubic decimeter (10cm x 10 cm x 10 cm) Sometimes cubic centimeters are also used 1 cubic cm = 1/1000 of a liter = 1 milliliter

Imperial Volume The Imperial system uses pints, quarts and gallons Volume is also measured in cubic inches, cubic feet and cubic yards. In Canada when we refer to Imperial we usually mean British Imperial, but the US has a different system 1 British gallon = litres 1 US gallon = litres

In both Imperial systems:
1 gallon = 4 quarts 1 quart = 2 pints In US system: 1 pint = 16 fluid ounces In British system: 1 pint = 20 fluid ounces
