1. A new type of wearable multifunctional necklace-shaped device NeckTec, 2015

2. NeckTec® is developing a multifunctional necklace-shape device designed for constant wear. The device has a modular structure and is comprised of the following: A central unit with a processor for communication with peripheral gadgets via Bluetooth and WiFi. Powerful long-lasting rechargeable batteries. A wide selection of interchangeable/replaceable modules with sensors for different applications, such as: - A high-quality MP-3 player; - A health-monitoring system; - An Internet-connected informational/navigational system; - A processor for connection with virtual-reality glasses. High-quality earphones with active noise cancellation. An electric mechanism for retractable earphone cables.

3. NeckTec addresses the following limitations and deficiencies of the current wearables: Limited features and functionality per device. Limited working time as a result of insufficient space for high-capacity batteries. Limited functionality of hardware. Problems with tangling wires.

4. NeckTec® necklace advantage and target markets The device's modularity allows to meet the needs of many potential users in different price categories, including meeting the following personal needs: Telephone headset (basic version); + High-quality MP3 audio player; + Sensors for health monitoring; + A long-life means of communication for special forces; + A base for connecting virtual-reality add-ons; + A luxury and decorative gadget for tech-heads; + Other possible uses for emerging needs and technologies. There are currently no similar devices on the market. Key technical and design solutions have been patented.

7. Current design challenges and constrains for the developer So far, we have developed the NeckTec necklace concept, chosen its basic framework, and made STL files and working models of the basic version of the device. All key elements patented. Main Challange: The lack of professionals in prototyping and industrial design for microelectronics in Russia. We are looking for partners to fine-tune and finalize the following nodes and components: 1.Technologists and Specialists in 3-D prototyping To choose materials for making the housing and ensure it’s waterproof. 2.Mechanicians For designing and making an integrated electric motorized earphone cable sweep mechanism. 3.Acoustics specialist: To choose components (we have the applicable blueprints and patents), and to make earphones for the device.

8. Partnership with developers is key to the market of new type of wearables At the design phase: Selecting technological solutions to fulfill the goals in making the NeckTec necklace. Design and production of high-quality working prototypes. At the commercialization stage: Design of new functional features and blocks to be installed on the NeckTec necklace. Improvement of the components used in the basic blocks of the NeckTec device.
