Partnership Review Context of partnership working has changed Bob Boulton became new chair from 1 st December Review was needed to ensure the partnership is still fit for purpose, value for money and can meet future challenges Root and branch review was carried out between December 2010 – February 2011, considered and agreed in principal by Vision Board on 1 st March 2011

Outcome of Review Strong mandate for continuation of Bournemouth 2026 partnership Focus partnership on a few priorities whilst recognising importance of wider Sustainable Community Strategy activity to deliver long term vision Need to be self sustaining by April 2013 Simple & streamlined structure – outcome focused meetings not talking shop

Outcome of Review Engage wider community including private sector to deliver sustainable community strategy – Big Society Intelligence led decision making Outcome focused partnership activity Prevention & intervention are key Supporting third sector to thrive

Implementation of fewer priorities Using intelligence led approach the Board agreed to focus on: 2 priority neighbourhoods: Boscombe & West Howe 2 issue priorities: Young People Realising Their Potential & Families in Crisis Boscombe Regeneration Partnership leading on developing Boscombe Action Plan

How we are becoming self sustaining Becoming Development Trust Social enterprise group exploring possibilities Exploring possible Community Land Trust Develop consortia to enable local third sector organisations to compete with nationals SE to help young people realising their potential Exploit trusted brand of Bournemouth 2026 partnership

Implementing streamlined structure Moved from consultation forums to focused workshops, information & networking days Today is the first information & networking day Suggestions for topics welcome Workshops: Boscombe workshop held in July, The Speakers event in July Future workshops: West Howe, Families in Crisis, Boscombe action plan, Social networking

Sustainable Community Strategy 2011 - 2014 Will be launched at Annual Conference To include: 4 new priorities – with targets Targets for visions – to be monitored annually LAA legacy Actions for wider community ie Big Society 4 Golden Threads: Reducing inequality, Earth Charter & sustainability, Prevention, People influencing decisions
