2. Education - Academic Affairs ABET  Robert S. Fredell (Managing Director for Accreditation) will present at Academic Affairs Committee (AAC) and Aerospace Department Chair Committee (ADCA). –ABET PEV Training will be in Baltimore in spring and early summer 2011: Apr 29-May 1, May 20- 22, June 10-12  AIAA can nominate up to 4 candidates for training. We would like to give first preference to qualified candidates from industry and/or women and under represented minorities.  The nine program visits for the fall were completed successfully and the two observers will be assigned visits next year.  EAC commissioners Brett Anderson and David Dolling will complete their 5-year terms in July 2011. We have nominated Velana Wells (ASU) and Aaron Byerley (USAFA) as new AIAA commissioners 2

Academic Affairs (cont) ABET, continued  Currently 72 accredited aerospace/aeronautical/ astronautical engineering programs of which 3 are at the MS level - 3 of these are outside the USA.  Last year 4 new programs were accredited - 2 outside the US –Daniel Webster College, Capitol College, Middle Eastern Technical University Turkey, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals Saudi Arabia  This year there is the potential for 2 new programs to be accredited - both outside the US.  Also currently 3 accredited aerospace engineering technology programs - 2 BS and 1 Associate. 3
