6. So what else makes up your personal identity? Groups or clubs that you belong to - scouts, rugby, choir, Moat Farm community.... What your interests or talents are – watching films, dance, X Box.... What things are important to you. What your hopes are for the future. Which people are important to you. Your religion The languages that you speak. Which country you are from.

11. Democracy Britain is a democracy – this means that the people in Britain vote for the people who make the laws and decide how the country is run. If we didn’t have a democracy, just one person might be able to make all the laws and that would not be fair.

12. Democracy At Moat Farm, the school council represent all your views and share these with the teachers and Miss Stone. Everyone within our school has a voice that is listened to. You fill in questionnaires to state your opinions on what you like about school, and what you would like to change.

13. The rule of the law In Britain we have a police force who make sure people do not do the wrong thing and break the law – this means that we are safe.

14. The rule of the law At Moat Farm, you are taught the school rules, and at the beginning of each year as a class, you create class rules. Your teachers keep you safe and value all of you. They make sure you understand the reasons behind each of the rules the school has.

15. Individual Liberty In Britain, as long as we do not break the law, we can live as we choose to and have our own opinions about things.

16. Individual Liberty At Moat Farm, you make your own choices in a safe environment, supported by your teachers. You are taught about being safe on your computers and have lessons about anti-bullying. Your teachers and other adults in school help you learn how to manage your emotions.

17. Mutual Respect We might not always agree with other people, but we try to show respect for their thoughts and feelings. We can give respect to others and we can expect other people to show us respect.

18. Mutual Respect At Moat Farm, we have high expectations for your behaviour and we want you all to achieve the best you possible can. Pupils in our school are polite, kind and treat others respectfully. You are all equally valued within our school.

19. Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs In Britain, we accept that other people might have different beliefs to ours and they may believe in different religions.

We encourage you to share your beliefs and experiences in class. You learn about, and sometimes even visit the different places of worship within our community.
