1. Romeo and Juliet By: Albert Cho

2. Background -Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy. -Probably the most famous play Shakespeare has written. -It is about two lovers, Romeo and Juliet. However, this love cannot stand due to the conflict between their families.

3. Characters Montagues Neither Capulets Romeo Friar Laurence Juliet Monatague Paris Capulet Benvolio Tybalt Mercutio Nurse

4. Plot -There is a quarrel between the two families, Montagues and Capulets. -While the Capulets then hold a feast/party, Romeo and attends to see Juliet. -At that scene, the two fall in love with each other.

5. Plot (continued…) -Despite the conflict, the two decides to get married. -However, Capulet wants Juliet to get married with Paris. -Juliet refuses and drinks a potion that makes her sleep. -Romeo mistakens the sleep, as actual death and kills himself, and Juliet does the same when she finds out Romeo died.

6. Why tragedy? -Romeo and Juliet loved each other dearly to their death. -instead of a happy ending, everyone seems to die, even the hatred between the two feuding families started to die. -It is simply just sad to have people who loved each other dearly to just die.
