13 One reason I like the Disneyland Hotel- the pool One reason I liked the Disneyland Hotel is because of the pool. The pool is really great because of the pirate ship and the fun water slides. There is even a fake crocodile that looks like he is going to eat you. Also, I like it because the water is a perfect temperature. The one thing I don’t like though is when I get water in my mouth and I have to taste the chlorine. The Disneyland Hotel pool is so fun.

15 One reason I like the Disneyland Hotel- the pool While reflecting on my stay at the Disneyland Hotel, it became evident that hanging out at the lagoon pool was my favorite activity. “Ahoy mate!” You could almost hear these words as you clamored up the side of the red pirate ship that was sunk in the middle of the pool. Next to the water slide, a crocodile, mouth gaping, eagerly anticipated Captain Hook. In addition, the cool chlorine-filled water felt so good after a long hot day at the park. However, I did have a frightening experience while in the pool. My stupid brother decided to hold my head under the water while I was thrashing about and splashing water everywhere. The chlorine went inside my nose, stinging and burning it. Finally, my brother released me and I could hear my mother screaming, “Let her go!” Getting dunked was worth seeing my brother get in trouble. Boy, after all that jumping and splashing in the pool, I was hungry. I could smell those hot dogs and hamburgers cooking poolside and could hardly wait to eat. 22 Alternate ways to use the pie strategy  Have kids pick a topic, fill in the pie pieces, then star the three pieces they feel fit the DICE questions. For each of those pie pieces have them fill out the senses graphic organizer and then create three distinct body paragraphs. For example- with the Disneyland Trip they may have starred the Disneyland Hotel piece, the cool rides piece, and the fireworks display piece. Then the student would do a five senses chart for each piece.
