Curriculum vitae ACE CV template can be found on the ACE Healthcareers website. Your chance to ‘sell’ yourself Professional, positive and genuine Try to keep to 1~2 pages (excluding research & publications) Include employment history but make sure you explain any large gaps Avoid listing key skills/attributes No grammatical and spelling errors!
11
Cover Letters One page Professional and enthusiastic but not desperate Be yourself and avoid regular use of clichés Explain what skills you can bring to the job and the organisation – Do the research Show genuine interest by giving specific reasons to why you want to work for that DHB – Simply stating “I have ranked you as my first choice” is meaningless No grammatical and spelling errors!
12
ACE Selection Criteria Aside from the eligibility criteria outlined earlier, each DHB uses a number of other criteria to rank applicants, shown on the next slide. After a successful pilot scheme last year, all DHBs will use the same ranking matrix. This has always been done but never publicised. Increase transparency You must provide all the information requested in the ACE CV template

Applicants ranked above the red line who have also ranked the hospital as their first preference will be matched to that hospital and be taken out of the matching pool. Applicants A and B have been matched to Hospitals 1 and 2 respectively. Hospital 3 still has one position and the next applicant on the ranking list is Applicant C.
