Company Confidential 37 © 2008 Nokia N85 for Contact Centres.ppt / 2008-09-22 / CM Tips and tricks 1/5 USB charging does not work correctly. Some USB chargers and USB emulators do not fulfill USB standards, thus charging is not possible. The charging current with some laptops may be too low for fast charging. Solution: Try charging with a different computer or use the AC-10 charger. USB connector may also suffer from moisture damage (contact service). Charging an empty (completely discharged) battery: It may take a few minutes before charging starts. Cannot use Music player when connected to PC. Solution: Select Image transfer mode when connecting the phone to PC. This allows you to charge and listen to music simultaneously.

Company Confidential 38 © 2008 Nokia N85 for Contact Centres.ppt / 2008-09-22 / CM Tips and tricks 2/5 Display autorotation does not work if the phone is in horizontal position. You must hold the phone upright (or at an angle) to use autorotation. If the phone is, for example, lying on a table and then turned sideways, display autorotation does not work. This is normal behaviour and not a fault. By default, the autorotation setting is OFF. It can be activated from Menu – Tools – Settings – General – Sensor settings – Turning control. N-Gage will be removed if factory settings are restored with *#7370*. Solution: The user can download a new one from n-gage.com

Company Confidential 39 © 2008 Nokia N85 for Contact Centres.ppt / 2008-09-22 / CM Tips and tricks 3/5 SIM card can be inserted wrong way. That causes insert SIM card error message. Solution: Insert SIM card correctly FM transmitter does not work. One possible reason for that is bent battery cover. Solution: Service can verify if the battery cover causes the problem

Company Confidential 40 © 2008 Nokia N85 for Contact Centres.ppt / 2008-09-22 / CM Tips and tricks 4/5 A carrying case with magnetic locking may cause confusing phone functions (i.e. ringing stops) if slide handling functions are activated. Slide resonates when vibrating alert is on. This is normal behaviour and not a fault. Visual look and feel: Light leakage between multimedia keys and frame. This is normal and not a fault. Navi™ wheel: If you press or scroll down too firmly or quickly, this may cause centre selection. Solution: Make sure that you are pressing the Navi™ wheel (scroll key) and not the centre. Navi touch feature is not as sensitive as expected. Some users may find it difficult to use the touch-based quick scrolling with the Navi™ wheel (scroll key).

Company Confidential 41 © 2008 Nokia N85 for Contact Centres.ppt / 2008-09-22 / CM Tips and tricks 5/5 Default settings By default, Navi™ wheel setting is OFF To set Navi™ wheel ON, go to Tools – Settings – General – Navi wheel. By default, geotagging (=Record location) setting is OFF To set geotagging ON, start Camera and go to Options – Settings – Record location. With this feature, location data is recorded into each image or video file, if GPS coordinates are found when capturing. By default, A-GPS setting is ON. This may cause data traffic and increase phone bill. To set A-GPS OFF, go to Tools – Settings – General – Positioning – Positioning methods – Assisted GPS. When A-GPS in OFF, getting a GPS fix may take longer -> if the user needs a quick GPS fix, A-GPS should then be ON.
